Huddersfield Town Seal Oscar Gobern Signing

Huddersfield Town have completed the signing of former Apprentice Oscar Gobern from Southampton.

The England Under-19 International has signed a two-year contract with Huddersfield after turning down the offer of a new deal from the Saints.

The midfielder scored twice in thirteen appearances for Southampton last season as they were promoted to the Championship. He has also spent time on loan at MK Dons since his Saints first-team debut back in 2008.

Huddersfield Town Manager Lee Clark told the club’s website: “Oscar has caught my eye whenever I have seen him play for the young England teams or Southampton.”

“He has a cultured left foot and he is very good on the ball, so we’re looking forward to working with him.”

“Oscar has bought into the club and what we are trying to do here.”

He added:

“He had a number of Championship clubs interested in him and was talking to Southampton about a new deal, but he has seen this club is on an upwards curve and he wants to be a part of it.”
