Hatters Promote Another Academy Graduate

Hatters Promote Another Academy Graduate

Luton Town have announced that they have offered Under-18s captain Kavan Cotter his first professional contract.

Cotter made his senior bow as one of six teenagers to play 90 minutes against Gillingham in a 2-1 EFL Trophy win in August.

That included Frankie Musonda, Craig King, Akin Famewo, Tyreeq Bakinson and first-team regular James Justin, while Alex Atkinson and Connor Tomlinson, who was 15 at the time, appeared off the bench.

Meanwhile, the Hatters have also implemented the option to extend defender Musonda’s contract for another year.

The 19-year-old made three substitute appearances in League Two during the 2015/16 season and started five times in the EFL Trophy this term before featuring on loan at Braintree.

However, four other second-year scholars – Harry Bean, George Murray, Jack Snelus and James Verney – along with third-year Geo Craig, have all been released by the club.
