Grant Fee To Swell Stanley Transfer Kitty

Accrington Stanley Chief Executive Rob Heys has pledged to reinvest any money received from Robert Grant’s move to Scunthorpe United in to Manager, John Coleman’s transfer budget.

The 19 year old winger-cum-forward bagged 14 league goals in 42 appearances for Stanley last term and is product of Stanley’s Apprenticeship programme.

The youngster who agreed a move to Scunthorpe on Tuesday will join the Irons when his contract expires in June.

However under the terms of the Bosman ruling – Stanley will still be entitled to a fee as the player is under 24 years of age – this is likely to be decided by a tribunal.

Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph, Heys said:

“We have told John that every penny of the money we receive will go straight into his budget.”
