Gradi Delight At Moore’s Crewe Stay

Dario Gradi expressed his delight after Byron Moore agreed to extend his stay at Crewe Alexandra.

The winger signed a new 12-month deal yesterday after deliberating over a possible move up the leagues.

The 22-year-old looks set to start next Monday’s pre-season fixture at Congleton along with fellow strikers AJ Leitch-Smith and Shaun Miller.

Speaking to the clubs website Gradi said: “The situation with our two forwards has been resolved. Clayton has moved to Brentford and Byron has signed a new 12-month deal. He was offered a two-year deal but wanted to sign for one and that is fine. He will be looking to get that move up in 12 months time.”

“He came in on the Friday for the first day of pre-season training and I spoke to him after that. He apologised for not answering our messages and was a bit embarrassed about that – but that is forgotten about. I was just pleased to see him again.”

“I am just happy he is here with us because he is a good player and can improve into an even better player.”
