Weymouth defender Ben Gerring is confident that the Terras can climb the
Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division if they train twice a week and together as a squad.
Weymouth have struggled to take off this season taking just five points from a possible twenty-one.
Former Plymouth Argyle Apprentice Gerring made 43 appearances for Weymouth last season and has been a part of the Terras’ defence so far this campaign.
“Until we get the whole first-team squad training together at least once, but preferably twice a week we are not going to fulfil our potential,” said Gerring.
“To be honest, I never saw this sort of start coming because in pre-season we looked like a team that had been together for five years rather than just six months.”
Gerring, who spent pre-season on trial at Stockport County, is adamant his team have what it takes to perform better.
“It is not a case where we are not good enough because there is no doubting some of the quality we possess in the squad. It is just a case of getting everything to gel together.”
He added:
“As individuals, everyone is working hard throughout the club to help it progress but we need to be pulling together more as a unit and that starts with training.”
