Leicester City’s U18’s produced a lively display in Kirkby on Saturday to inflict a 3-0 defeat on Liverpool in the second round of Academy League matches.
Rodolfo Borrell’s men were undone by the power and pace of a talented City side despite showing up well in an evenly contested opening to the match.
The Foxes however, didn’t look back once they had forged ahead on the 35th minute via the head of Tom Parkes. The City youngster out-jumping a crowd of players to nod home an opener.
With the Foxes doing well to contain Liverpool danger man Dalla Valle, they always looked the greater threat and it was no surprise when Cian Bolger increased their lead just before the hour mark.
Then with time running out for the home-side to force their way back in to the game, Elliot Chamberlain arrowed a drive into the corner from Ben Milnes’ short free-kick to round off an impressive City performance.
