Former Apprentices Shortlisted For Award

Three former Apprentice players have been shortlisted for the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League ‘Fans Player of the Year’ Award.

Cheyenne Dunkley (Hednesford Town), Alex Titchiner (Witton Albion) and Ruben Wiggins-Thomas (Carlton Town) have all made the 5 man shortlist.

Dunkley who was at Crewe Alexandra until the summer of 2010 is a previous winner of LFE’s, Mike Johnson Award and is now studying Sports Science at Loughborough University.

He has earned rave reviews for his performances at Keys Park this season taking a key role in the side following the departure of Pedro Montero.

Titchiner is another ex Crewe youngster, who joined Witton permanently after a loan spell last season. The 20-year old has been a key factor in the Club’s play-off push this season, netting 14 league goals and laying on countless others for team-mates.

Wiggins-Thomas formerly of Chesterfield has bagged 18 goals this term in an attack-minded Carlton Town side that top the NPL goal scoring charts. Better known as a winger than a striker, RWT has left defences in his wake, firing the Nottinghamshire club to the top of the table.

The trio will now go head to head against two relatively experienced players in the shape of Hednesford Town’s, Mark Beesley and ex Manchester United keeper Nick Culkin who is now at Radcliffe Borough.
