On Tuesday November 18th a group of fitness industry hopefuls gathered at the Fitness First Chesterfield Academy to see if they had what it takes to pursue a career in the fitness industry.
The Assessment day is part of a fantastic opportunity for guaranteed employment offered via a Progression Partnership programme. Designed by LFE, YMCAfit and Fitness First and supported by The PFA this transition model from ASE into the fitness industry is one of a series of programmes to offer alternative and complementary career options.
An increasingly competitive industry meant that the Assessment day was no walk in the park but all candidates were successful and invited to undertake the Residential YMCAfit Gym Instructor course on 26th January 2009. If successful they will then be offered employment with Fitness First.
In fact, so impressed with the quality of the candidates on show at the Chesterfield Academy were YMCAfit and Fitness First, a second day has been arranged in London on Tuesday 6th January. This will accommodate those interested but unable to make the original trip.
Neil Tune, HR Director for Fitness First commented that
“This programme really does represent a true partnership offer of massive benefit to the organisations involved but more importantly to the individuals who take advantage of it.”
“A guaranteed career start in an industry they have a passion for: in an organisation that has a passion for them, is a rarity. Especially for what amounts to an individual cost of just £371 this really shouldn’t be missed.”
