Fairhurst Provides O’Driscoll With Bright Spot In Midlands.

Waide Fairhurst

Doncaster Rovers Manager Sean O’Driscoll handed ASE graduate Waide Fairhurst his first-ever start for Rovers last night and was rewarded almost immediately as the youngster opened the scoring at The Hawthorns.

The youngster, who replaced James Coppinger for the Championship clash vs West Bromwich Albion, gave the visitors an early lead after finding the bottom left corner from six yards.

Sadly for Rovers, West Brom equalised soon after, Jonas Olsson heading home from Graham Dorrans cross.

The same pair then combined for West Brom’s second as Olsson again headed home and the scoring was completed by 17 year old Chris Woods’ stunning 25-yard strike.

The result takes the Midlands Club to the top of the Championship table while Rovers sit in 17th position.
