Dunne Pleased To Be Involved

Aidy Boothroyd

Colchester United coach Joe Dunne has revealed it has been a “phenomenal” experience working with new manager Aidy Boothroyd.

Dunne, who has previously worked predominantly in the Club’s Youth department, has linked-up closely with Boothroyd and his assistant John Ward, having been caretaker of the U’s after Paul Lambert’s shock departure.

Speaking to the Daily Gazette he said:

“Being involved with the Manager and John (Ward) has been a fantastic experience in the short time I’ve worked with them.”

“I’m trying to gain as much knowledge as I can off them and it’s been phenomenal over the past two weeks.”

“As long as I can use whatever knowledge I get and pass it on to the players I work with, that’s the main thing.”

Dunne added:

“Being caretaker manager has given me a completely different outlook on football. It’s great for me and I hope now that I take the opportunity I have to develop as a coach.”
