Former Bury Apprentice Jack Dorney hit two hat-tricks in 48 hours to fire Chorley to the top of the Evo-Stik League Division One North table.
The former Shakers wide-man followed boss Garry Flitcroft to Victory Park after leaving Leigh Genesis in the summer. He has now hit seven of the Magpies 12 goals scored in their opening two fixtures to justify the merits of that decision.
A treble against Woodley Sports last Saturday was followed up on Monday night against Curzon Ashton at the Tameside Stadium where the in-form youngster hit four.
With Chorley sitting pretty at the top of the League table, Dorney who is still only 20 years-old may become a target for club’s higher up the football pyramid if he continues his rich vein of goal scoring form.
