Peter Denton may be down but he’s not out. The youngster who has been playing in goal for Rotherham United’s Under-18’s this term has just been told that he has no future with the Millers next term.
While the situation is far from ideal, Denton is refusing to be too downcast and has already turned his attentions to finding a new club by visiting LFE’s Assessment Trials at Staines.
On a blustery evening, the young keeper acquitted himself well in difficult circumstances and told LFETV that he’s ready to move on.
“The ideal situation is a football league club in this country but I’d be open to anywhere really,” Denton said.
“With every setback a new door opens and obviously not getting a contract at Rotherham, you’re going to be upset about the whole situation but you’ve just got to use it as a motivation to get elsewhere.”
