Deering Gets Second Chance

Transfer-listed forward Sam Deering may still have a future at Oxford United according to Manager Chris Wilder.

The 19 year old who came through the Club’s Youth system was told that he could find a new Club last month.

However, he was handed a reprieve on Tuesday night when he was recalled to the squad for the home defeat against Torquay United.

Wilder said: “This may have given him a wake up call to say get your finger out and get in on time and work hard like a decent young professional.”

“He has to realise what he has here and if he does that he will be a decent player for us and he’ll continue.”

Deering has made over fifty first-team appearances for the Us since 2008.
