Saturday morning was great. While all the outfield players had the joy of a running session, Tommo and me went round the back to join in the shooting session with the pros that weren’t involved in the Colchester match. It was a really good session. A good workout as well with shots coming in at you repeatedly with not much rest. After the shooting we had a couple of 5-a-side matches, which were at an unbelievable pace. It’s a step up from the 6-a-sides with the YT’s. I did really well in these. Chris Neal, one of the first team keepers played outfield while Tommo and me went in goal. Goal of the day went to Nealo. He met a low Matty Hill cross and just flicked it Zola-like into the bottom corner. He’s class in general play as well so he could probably be a striker if he wanted to. After the session it was down to Deepdale. But it was a match to forget as the 1st team went down 3-0. A score line that flattered Colchester, it wasn’t a great performance.
