Former Plymouth Argyle Apprentice Dan Gosling produced a dramatic winner two minutes from the end of extra-time to settle an enthralling Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.
With the outcome of the FA Cup fourth-round replay looking set to be decided by penalties, the teenager side-stepped Liverpool’s Ãlvaro Arbeloa and calmly curled in a right foot shot off the right hand post.
The teenager who moved to the Toffees mid way through his Apprenticeship programme at Home Park can now look forward to a 5th round tie with Aston Villa.
Reflecting on his evening’s work Gosling said;
“It’s a great day for the club and all the fans.”
“I was thinking ‘just shoot and get it on target’.”
