Carlisle United’s Head of Youth Eric Kinder has appealed to local clubs to provide some opposition for the Cumbrians U18 side this weekend.
Carlisle’s youth squad do not have a Youth Alliance fixture on Saturday but Kinder is still keen to put his youngsters through their paces if opposition can be found.
It has been a topsy turvy start for the Blues in the North West Conference with two defeats and two wins from their first four games.
An opening day defeat to Oldham Athletic was followed up by an emphatic 5-0 win over Rochdale but the Cumbrians then fell to a defeat against Preston North End.
Last Saturday they beat Morecambe 7-1 and Kinder feels a game will be more beneficial than training at this stage in the season.
“If anyone out there has a youth or reserve side who don’t have a game, and would be willing to play against the youth team, could they please contact me at the club,” said Kinder.
“There are a few things we need to work on and there’s nothing like a game to do that.”
“Training is great but nothing beats the intensity of a match.”
