Rochdale have sent youngster Callum Byrne out on loan to Evo-Stick League First Division North side Trafford for a month.
The 18 year old who is a first-year professional at Spotland joined the Whites in time to make his debut in Tuesday night’s 2-1 win at Mossley.
Dale Manager Keith Hill will hope that the youngster can benefit from regular game time at Shawe View.
Speaking to the Club’s official website, Hill said:
“It is important that young players get some real football and by that I mean men’s football under their belt. The move to Trafford gives him the opportunity to gain the experience of the physical challenge of the league.”
Also this week, Dale have completed the signing of striker Deane Smalley from local rivals Oldham Athletic on a month-long loan deal.
The 22 year old forward has found himself on the sidelines recently after a spell out due to injury. He looks set to join the squad Dale’s home clash with Plymouth today.
