Bury’s 2nd Year Apprentices were recently treated to a variation to their normal classroom based lessons at Bury College when Course Leader Rehan Hamid decided to hit Burrs Activity Centre in completion of the BTEC unit ‘Psychology for Sports Performance’.
The unit asks Apprentices to investigate the value and impact of effective teamwork in sport so Rehan Hamid led Bury’s Apprentices through a variety of activities from Raft Building to Land Based Problem Solving.
On their return to the classroom the Apprentices were then able to relate the trip with the theoretical elements of the unit.
Rehan states:
“It was great for the lads to get out of the classroom and take part in practical hands on activities. The trip was a fantastic success and as such we will be looking to carry this out on an annual basis with the Apprentices moving forward.”
LFE would also like to extend its congratulations to Ashley Young (left) for achieving the Bury College Outstanding Student of the Month Award in February.
Ashley was commended on the high standard of his work and contributions to the class. He values the importance of his college education and how it could support him in the future.
