Brinkhurst Signs For Boro

Former Brighton & Hove Albion youngster Steve Brinkhurst has signed a one-year deal with Blue Square Premier side Eastbourne Borough.

The 19 year old midfielder who can operate on either wing, turned pro with the Seagulls last summer after completing his Apprenticeship programme but he failed to make a single first team appearance at the Withdean.

He spent two months on loan at Blue Square South side Lewes last season, scoring three goals in 12 appearances.

Brinkhurst is Boro Manager Garry Wilson’s third signing of the summer. Goalkeeper Rikki Banks (ex Crystal Palace) and defender Matt Langston have also joined the Sports, from Lewes and Histon respectively.
