On Saturday we played Hillie, the team one point and one place above us in the table, so it was a chance for us to move up a place if we got all three points.
That said, we knew it would be a tough game and we would have to be at our best to win as they are unbeaten so far.
We went in at half time 0-0, but in the second half we created a few chances and managed to get ourselves 2 goals up. Soon after, Hillie had a man sent off for a second bookable offence and the game seemed all but over until the last 10 minutes.
Hillie played a ball over our defence and Lloyd came rushing out of his goal thinking he could get to the ball before the striker, unfortunately he didn’t and brought him down conceding a penalty and a straight red card.
We had to put one of our midfielders in goal because we didn’t have a goalkeeper on the bench. We conceded the penalty and another goal a few minutes from time to finish the game with one point and a three and a half hour bus ride home to ponder how we let a 2-0 lead slip away in 10 minutes.
On Monday the whole team went to watch GIF Sundsvall play Djurgarden FC (a team from Stockholm) which was a really nice change from our normal routine.
Unfortunately they lost 1-0, and didn’t really create that many chances but I think they played on the Saturday, so it’s understandable that the players were tired.
On a more positive note we played a team bottom of the league on Wednesday and won 10-1, which is a nice way to bounce back after the disappointment of Saturday.
Lloyd was suspended for this game and we had to put our second choice keeper in goal and considering he hasn’t played that many games he did well.
