Jack Whatmough is celebrating a dream 17th birthday after penning a three-year professional contract with Portsmouth.
The youngster, who turned 17 today, is highly thought of at Fratton Park which is reflected by the length of his deal – the longest a club can tie a player to at 17.
The Central defender has played in both of the Blues’ academy league games this season.
Whatmough made the Pompey bench last season at the age of 15 and was an unused substitute in the Capital One Cup defeat at Plymouth.
“I’m delighted for Jack. We’ll continue to work hard to help him develop,” said Academy Manager Andy Awford.
