Mark Beevers

Sheffield Wednesday defender Mark Beevers has been named on standby for the England U20’s international friendly with Italy at Loftus Road later this month.

The Young Lions 18-man squad was named this week ahead of their preparations for the FIFA U20 World Cup which will be hosted in Egypt this September.

Beevers, now an established first-team regular at Hillsborough, rounded off a superb 2007/08 season with the Football League’s Championship Apprentice of the Year award title.
