Barnet 1 – 3 Northampton Town

Northampton Town’s U18’s emerged with all three points from Saturday’s trip to Barnet, in the latest round of Football League Youth Alliance fixtures.

The Cobblers took the spoils after goals from Josh Urquhart and Mark Withers contributed to a 3-1 win for Sean Parrish’s side.

Speaking to the Club’s official website, Parrish said:

“Overall I was pleased with the performance of the lads, we made a few changes to the side because of various reasons and the blustery conditions made it difficult but after quite a slow start we got ourselves into the game and scored two good goals.”

“We were a bit sluggish again at the start of the second half which was disappointing but credit to Barnet they got themselves back into the game at 2-1.”

“After that we got back on top again though and an own goal put us 3-1 ahead. With the chances we created we probably should have scored more goals and made things more comfortable for ourselves.”

“I was just pleased to get the three points and hopefully this will be the start of a good run that will see us kick on up the league table.”
