Crewe Alexandra Manager, Dario Gradi has praised teenager James Bailey and compared the Academy graduate as his new ‘Neil Sorvel’ after some impressive performances of late.
Speaking to the Club’s website, Gradi said:
“James doesn’t understand what a good player he can become. He hasn’t got any outstanding qualities, in terms of scoring or really creating goals but his decision-making is very good. He knows the game and reads it well.”
“He reminds me a lot of Neil Sorvel. The fans probably don’t remember Neil as a magnificent player but his decision-making was always good and you didn’t see how affective he was until you watch it back on the DVD or video as it was at the time!”
“Having that discipline to play that central role is vital and Bailey has that. He will only improved with experience and become even more reliable in and out of possession.”
“He was a full-back in the Academy until we turned him into a midfield player at around 14. He has built on that and will only get better in the future.”
