Archer Seals Boro Loan Switch

Former LFE learner Cameron Archer has completed a loan move to Middlesbrough from Aston Villa. The striker will spend the remainder of the 2022/23 campaign at the Riverside Stadium.

The 21-year-old has become Michael Carrick’s first signing as Boro boss since arriving in November, with the north east sides’ fortunes having changed massively since the former Manchester United midfielder took charge.

Archer spent the second half of last season on loan at Preston North End, scoring seven goals in 20 league appearances during his brief spell at Deepdale.

The Villa Academy graduate said: “Delighted to have signed on loan for @Boro for the remainder of the season. Looking forward to getting started and seeing you all at the Riverside. UTB!”
