Addicks Starlets Shine

Yado Mambo | Jonjo Shelvey

Charlton Athletic Apprentice Jonjo Shelvey produced another fine display on Saturday to help the Addicks to an impressive away win at Tranmere.

The 17 year old midfielder (pictured, right) set up the opening goal of the game with a deep cross that was converted by Lloyd Sam and was an influential figure as the League Leaders enjoyed themselves in the Prenton Park sunshine.

Elsewhere, fellow Addicks Apprentice Yado Mambo (pictured, left) played his second match in three days for Welling United on Monday.

The giant 17 year old centre-half, who joined The Wings on work experience at the end of last week, had an eventful game as he helped the Blue Square South side keep a clean sheet at Park View Road.

Not only did he start the match, he was booked, picked up a slight niggling injury and was only denied claiming the winning goal when his header from a corner was cleared off the goal-line.
