Accrington Stanley recorded their first win in six games on Saturday in a home clash against Lancashire outfit Morecambe in the Youth Alliance.
The visitors to the Crown Ground were put to the test as the Stanley youngsters started brightly and showed their intentions in the opening few minutes.
Stanley took the lead on 14 minutes when Connor Hobson cut in at pace to slot the ball home. Maintaining the momentum, Stanley broke through the midfield on 25 minutes to force a Morecambe clearance and secure a corner.
Adam Black broke through again just before the half time whistle only to be judged off-side and the score remained 1-0 as they went in at the break.
The second half saw the Reds carry on where they left off pressurising at every opportunity and were rewarded on 55 minutes with an excellent finish from Jordan Neild to make it 2-0.
Morecambe came back with a first time effort on 75 minutes but Matthew Ince produced a great reflex save.
Phil Hackney’s charges finished off the visitors in the 80th minute when Adam Black and Jonathan Evans combined to free Jamie Larner who netted Stanley’s third.
