Goal of the Month continues to go from strength to strength. This month a record Twenty-six entries from Football League Clubs participating in the Youth Alliance & Academy Leagues has been whittled down to a shortlist of eight.

The winning strike last month was Ashley Harris’ spectacular overhead kick for Portsmouth against MK Dons on 17 September. And now it’s time to go to the public vote once again with some more fantastic finishes. The contenders for October are:

  • GOAL A: Kyle De Silva, Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace
  • GOAL B: George Colson, Portsmouth vs West Ham Utd
  • GOAL C: Matthew Partridge, Reading vs Aston Villa
  • GOAL D: Uchechukwu Ikpeazu, Reading vs Aston Villa
  • GOAL E: Adebayo Azeez, West Ham Utd vs Charlton Athletic
  • GOAL F: Jack Payne, Southend Utd vs Dagenham & Redbridge
  • GOAL G: Tosin Olufemi, Southend Utd vs Colchester Utd
  • GOAL H: Conor Wilkinson, Millwall vs Brentford

Voting will remain open until 1pm on Wednesday 16 November 2011.

LFE Chief Executive, Alan Sykes commented:

“The quality of goals on display is a great advertisement of the work being conducted at Football League Clubs to develop the players of tomorrow. Judging by the standard of entries that we have once again received it is going to be yet another close fought competition.”
