It’s time for LFE’s Goal of the Month competition to return, with eight stunning strikes from across the Academy leagues during February making the cut.

The winner will join Bolton Wanderers pair Luca Connell and Callum King-Harmes, Bradley Webb (Bristol City), Owen James (Oxford United), Lewis Farmer (Sheffield Wednesday) and Adam O’Reilly (Preston North End) in LFE’s 2018-19 Goal of the Season contest.

Derby County’s Jason Knight is back in the mix after previously appearing in December 2017, with the Republic of Ireland youth international converting a venomous drive from the edge of the area. He’ll face tough opposition from two free-kick specialists in Kieran Cummings (Notts County) and Camron McWilliams (Northampton Town), who both found the top corner from distance with pinpoint accuracy.

Elsewhere, first-year apprentice Lewis Simper headed home to finish off a magnificent team move from Cambridge United Under-18s, which involved touches for nine of the 10 outfield players. Meanwhile, Swindon Town’s Luke Haines and Milton Keynes Dons midfielder Jenson Wright unleashed thunderous long-range efforts.

Seventeen-year-old Yeovil Town forward Neville Nzembela also found the net from outside the penalty area, combining power and precision after carrying the ball from just inside his own half, while Wigan Athletic’s Mackenzie O’Neill coolly lifted the ball over his marker before producing a clever dink over the keeper.
