Upon receiving their GCSE results, learners are required to visit the Club they wish to study at in order to provide the club with evidence of these achievements. During this visit, Club staff will be able to identify if learners are to be offered a place on the Study Programme or not, and at which level they will study.
Upon completion of the Induction period, LFE’s Futsal Manager will meet with all new learners to undertake the enrolment process with them. Firstly, learners will complete their Initial assessment/ diagnostic testing, before having a one-to-one interview with the Futsal manager. During this interview they will discuss why they have joined the course and what their expectations are. In addition, all relevant paperwork will be completed and the planned study hours will be discussed and agreed.
Initial Assessments are carried out with every learner to establish their academic ability. The assessment is carried out in the first 4 weeks of the course and will enable the learner to be placed on the most appropriate educational programme based upon the outcome of this and their GCSE results. All learners will undertake an online skills builder assessment and Learning Styles Questionnaire as part of the Initial Assessment process.
Upon completion of the Initial Assessment, learners will undergo Diagnostic testing to identify their strengths and areas for improvement in English and maths. The results of these tests are crucial for teachers to ensure lessons are correctly planned to cater for all individual learning needs.
All learners are provided with a thorough induction prior to the start of their programme. LFE provides each club with a set of standard induction topics that includes the following:
In addition to this they will cover the following:
Learner support is about giving each learner access to support necessary to achieve their aims.
The role of the LFE Futsal Manager is to support learners during their time on the Futsal Study Programme. Learners will have regular contact with the Futsal Manager throughout their programme and they will regularly review progress to ensure learners are on track to complete the programme successfully. They are able to provide support with any issues that may arise and can also facilitate support for additional learning needs if this is required.
Learner reviews are conducted by club staff and in some instances the Futsal Manager, and are recorded on an e-learning platform (EMS). The review process clearly establishes the level of progress made, and agreed actions for each learner. All reviews are exportable from LFE’s e-learning platform and can be distributed directly to parents.
Reviews are conducted in the following areas:
Reviews are conducted 4 times per year, throughout the 36 week course. It is essential that learners are available for reviews.
The Futsal Study programme is designed to give all learners the very best chance of building and maintaining a career as within the sports industry.
Through the Exit and Progression support programme LFE will equip learners with the information and skills necessary to identify and achieve these careers.
For more information about progression, please see the Exit and Progression section of our website.
