A career in health and fitness is ideal as it enables you to work in a very practical way, helping members of public to get fitter. It taps into your passion for fitness, physical abilities and experience in using the gym.
For you to undertake an exclusive and discounted “Progression Programme” to fast track you into employment with Fitness First through undertaking a Gym Instructor qualification with YMCAfit.
Successful applicants will join an existing YMCA Gym Instructor course. Flexible learning formats are available. You must pass both a practical and theoretical assessment to complete the course.

The Qualification
YMCA Gym Instructor & CYQ Level 2 Certificate in Fitness
Employment
If you achieve the qualification Fitness First will guarantee you an interview. If you are successful you will then be considered for employment at a centre as local to you as possible (dependant on vacancies).
What are the costs?
£742 is to be paid up front.
However, if you are a member of The PFA £371 will be reimbursed to you upon completion of the qualification. This is subject to you fulfilling the criteria and application process – PFA Grant Application Form
N.B. If you do not complete the course or your employment is terminated you will be liable for the full costs and any remaining balance.
No formal qualifications are required to undertake this course but a basic standard of literacy and a commitment to physical activity is needed.
