Staffordshire University also offer – in conjunction with the PFA – a specialist 2-year fast track BA Hons programme in Professional Sports Writing and Broadcasting.
This course is delivered by blended learning allowing participants to combine their work commitments as a professional sports person with studying. Some parts are taught in block delivery at the University, where you use the media and broadcast newsroom facilities to develop your skills as a broadcaster and journalist. Other aspects, such as law for journalists etc. are studied via online distance learning.

To study at University you must normally be at least 17 years of age before the degree programme begins.
You must also satisfy the entry requirements for the degree programme for which you are applying and have acceptable levels of literacy, normally GCSE English Language grade C. Some programmes may also require you to have GCSE Maths at grade C or above for entry.
Universities normally expects applicants to have achieved 21 units at A level or through a combination of A level, AS level, VCE or BTEC qualifications, but may be willing to accept 18 units under certain circumstances.
Acceptable combinations will vary from one programme of study to another. For some degree programmes, compulsory subject requirements may also apply.
