LFE has secured a partnership with Hartpury College. Hartpury College, Associate Faculty of the University of the West of England, has created an outstanding academic environment to enable students of all ages and abilities to gain qualifications and develop important vocational and life skills to help them achieve their ambitions within the sport, equine, animal, veterinary nursing and agriculture related industries.
Hartpury Academy of Sport was founded in 2000 and is located at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire. The Hartpury Sports Academy aims to provide elite rugby, football, netball, golf, modern pentathlon, rowing and equestrian athletes with both high standard academic courses and the facilities and support services they require to train, compete and win at the highest level in their chosen sport.

Hartpury Academy (Three Units)
1. Performance Development
Sports science support is provided in: Sports psychology, Physiology exercise testing, Sports therapy (osteopathy, podiatry, massage and vision), Sports nutrition, Sports medicine, Sports strength and conditioning, Biomechanical analysis.
2. Athlete Education
A course is selected from the range of higher education programmes available (as detailed above).
3. Elite Competition
Members compete in the British Universities and Colleges (BUCS) Leagues representing the Hartpury College Sports Academy nationally and internationally.

The minimum requirements for entry to Hartpury College vary significantly from programme to programme. For some degree programmes, compulsory subject requirements may also apply. However, acceptance onto a course (sport or otherwise) at Hartpury does not automatically entitle a student to a place within Hartpury Sports Academy. Selection into the Academy is limited and based upon ability.
Selection is confirmed after participation in sports trials, held during the first half of term as part of the selection process and students must maintain good academic standing, as well as agreed sporting and behavioural standards to retain their place in the Academy.
Scholarships – players with exceptional talent may be offered a Sports Academy Scholarship, providing assistance towards accommodation fees. Some players may also be offered a bursary to provide financial assistance towards expenses.
In order to determine whether you need any specific qualifications to undertake this opportunity you will need to contact the university directly as there may be course entry requirements.
Higher Education Open Days are specifically designed for students who are interested in studying an undergraduate (Foundation degree or Honours degree) or postgraduate (Masters Degree) programme at Hartpury College.
