U’s In Youth Cup Action

Oxford United

Oxford United’s Under-18’s are in FA Youth Cup action on Thursday evening as they make the short journey to Henley Town.

With the qualifying rounds now almost over United will be hoping to come through tonight’s fixture against local opposition.

Les Taylor’s Under-18 side, who beat Cheltenham 4-1 on Saturday, have started the season well and came through the first qualifying round against Alton.

Speaking to the Club’s official website, Taylor said:

“It is a proper Cup tie because Henley will want to show what they can do, especially because it is so close, so our lads will have to be on their toes and approach the game in the right manner.”

Defenders Marvin Martin and Jack Smith are ineligible due to the age restrictions in the competition but Aaron Woodley, who scored twice on Saturday, is likely to feature up front.

The game kicks off at 7.45pm at the Invesco Perpetual Triangle Ground, Henley on Thames.
