The Football League Trust Appoint Evans As General Manager

The Football League Trust has appointed Mike Evans to the position of General Manager.

He will succeed Dave Edmundson who retires at the end of September.

“It is a huge privilege and an honour to be taking over as General Manager of The Football League Trust,” said Evans.

Evans, who joined the Trust in 2007 as National Project Manager, has managed the ‘Future Jobs Fund’ securing funds of up to £2.6 million and guiding 400 long term unemployed young people into work.

His forthcoming responsibilities will include the management of funding arrangements within Community and Youth Development throughout the The Football League and its member clubs.

Greg Clarke, Chairman of The Football League, said: “I am delighted to see Mike appointed to the position of General Manager of The Football League Trust.”

“Mike is a highly motivated and passionate advocate of the important work done by the Trust and has a wealth of experience.”

“After four successful years The Football League Trust is flourishing and I am confident Mike will continue to take it from strength to strength.”

Evans added:

“We continue to break new ground in our Youth Development and Community work, and our ambition to be leaders in these fields will drive us through the challenges ahead.”

“I look forward to working with all the clubs to develop their reach into their communities, and with our partners in the football family and beyond to bring in new opportunities.”

“I would like to thank Dave Edmundson for his enthusiasm and passion in establishing The Football League Trust over the past four years, and wish him all the best for his retirement.”
