Today will see LFE Regional Officer Ian Smithson and a contingent of Watford club staff and supporters begin the challenge of a London to Amsterdam cycle ride in support of Prostate Cancer UK – The Football League’s long-term Official Charity Partner.

Representatives from all 72 Football League clubs will venture off from the Matchroom Stadium of Leyton Orient towards the Weston Homes Community Stadium of Colchester United for the first leg.

After marking the 90 mile journey to Harwich by night, the team will cross the Channel overnight before rising again to ride a further 60 miles to complete the challenge.

Watford FC’s Commercial Director Alan McTavish will lead the Hornets’ team as they plan to complete the 150 mile challenge and the nine cyclists will be hoping to reach not just the capital but their fundraising target too.
