Oxford United have confirmed that they have offered professional contracts to three of their second-year apprentices.
Defenders Sam Long, David Lynn and striker Callum O’Dowda have been awarded deals for their outstanding efforts in the under-18 team this season.
Chris Allen’s side finished the season as runners-up in the Youth Alliance South West division.
The trio who all joined the U’s as 9-year-old’s will join fellow youth-team graduates Max Crocombe and Tyrone Marsh in the first-team squad next term.
“I think all three of us are still buzzing after being told the news,” said O’Dowda. “We are all local lads and to be given this chance is something we have dreamed of since we first came to the club as primary school kids.”
“For all three of us to get the chance together is the icing on the cake.”
