Luton Town has appointed two new faces in Alan Neilson and Gregg Broughton.

Alan Neilson takes up the role of youth development coach and is a former crowd favourite at Luton whom he represented between 2002 and 2005. The former Hatters defender also had spells at Newcastle United, Southampton and Fulham in a successful playing career.

Clearly relishing his new role, Neilson told the club’s website:

“There’s a fantastic bunch of lads here with real potential and I hope to develop them into first-team players.”

Gregg Broughton’s will work alongside Neilson in the role of youth development officer.

Broughton had previously been working with the Football in the Community department at the club and his role will be focussed on recruitment, financial control and organisation with some coaching duties.
