Everton should complete the transfer of Ademola Lookman in the next 24 hours after agreeing an £11m deal with Charlton Athletic.
Lookman, 19, who was the LFE Championship Apprentice of the Year last season, is expected on Merseyside today to undergo a medical at Everton.
Ronald Koeman recently confirmed his interest in the player and it is thought that Everton have resisted the temptation to allow the player to return to the League One club on loan for the rest of the season.
Instead, Lookman, who has registered 7 goals in 25 appearances this term and can operate across the forward positions, is being viewed as someone who could quickly make an impact on Koeman’s first team squad.
His addition continues Everton’s policy of recruiting emerging talent from English Football League clubs.
The Toffees signed teenage striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Sheffield United in August for £1.5m. The England youth international started the 3-0 win against Southampton on Monday after several appearances as a substitute but was forced off early on with an ankle injury.
Bassala Sambou (Coventry City), Matty Faulds (Bury), Mason Holgate (Barnsley) and Brendan Galloway (MK Dons) have all arrived at Goodison Park from EFL clubs in recent times.
