Walsall have signed James Baxendale on a free transfer following his release by Doncaster Rovers.
The 19-year-old winger, a former Apprentice at Leeds United, left Rovers after they were relegated to League One last season.
Saddlers boss Dean Smith said: “James is a skillful player who understands the game.”
“He’s a ball carrier who has the ability to unlock defences. He will add an exciting dimension to our play.”
At the end of his Apprenticeship at Leeds, Baxendale was released in 2011 before joining Doncaster.
He made three appearances for Rovers last term, all as a substitute, before joining Hereford United on loan.
