Ipswich Town Successfully Sign Aaron Cresswell

Ipswich Town have successfully signed former Tranmere Rovers Apprentice Aaron Cresswell.

The move does come in the form of a free transfer but the Tractor Boys will have to pay Rovers compensation because the left-back is under the age of 24.

Cresswell has signed a three-year deal that will keep him at Portman Road until 2014.

There had been much speculation over the future of the 21-year old as he had been linked with a number of Championship clubs.

“He might not get people off their seats but he’s a decent player,” Jewell told BBC Radio Suffolk.

“We’ve bought potential and he has a great left foot.”

Speaking to the Ipswich website Cresswell said: “It was the easiest decision ever to come here.”

“I enjoyed my time at Tranmere and it will be hard to leave home, but joining Ipswich is something else.”

“It’s a big club and it’s a big step up for me, but I’m delighted to have the opportunity to take it.”
