Griffiths Set To Benefit From Argyle Loan

Ipswich Town youngster Jamie Griffiths will reap the benefits of a loan move to Plymouth Argyle according to Manager Paul Jewell.

The 19-year-old midfielder is set to spend a month at Home Park and made his debut for the Pilgrims in their 2-1 defeat at Burton last weekend.

“Jamie has been with the Club a while now and I feel the move will benefit him,” Jewell told the Ipswich Town Club website.

“I like young players to go out on loan to lower league clubs as it gives them an insight into just how hard it is and in the end it does benefit them. Look at Tom Cleverley, he’s been out on loan at Watford and Leicester and now he’s in the Manchester United first-team.”

“Reidy [Peter Reid] is having a bit of trouble down there at the minute so this helps them but it also helps us because it will add to Jamie’s experience.”
