Bowl-ing Over Bournemouth

Former Cardiff City Apprentice Gary Bowles is reportedly attracting the interest of League One Club AFC Bournemouth.

Bowles who is now at Blue Square South Club Dorchester Town featured in a friendly for the Cherries at Winchester City last week.

The quality of that appearance was enough to prompt an invitation to train at Dean Court.

He has made over 130 appearances for Dorchester since joining them in 2007 and the Club’s Assistant Manager, Phil Simkin is not shocked that Bowles is now attracting attention from a League Club.

“It’s no surprise that they are interested in him as he is an exceptionally talented player. Technically, he is probably the best equipped in our team.”

“Last season we used him in midfield at times and he took to it like a duck to water.”

“People often don’t realise how good he really is.”
