With the 2016-17 season at an end, LFE is celebrating the best goals scored in the Under-18 Academy League across the campaign, with the winners of each Goal of the Month competition in contention for the Goal of the Season prize.

Stevenage striker Claudio Ofosu kicked off this season’s contest in style with a fierce long-range effort to triumph in August, while September saw Hull City’s Stephen Akbas convert a terrific volley.

Ryan Giles produced a sublime solo run and finish for Wolves against Manchester United in October before AFC Wimbledon midfielder Anthony Hartigan booked his place in the Goal of the Season reckoning with a spectacular lob from the halfway line.

Another lob topped the chart in the first competition of 2017 through Birmingham City and Republic of Ireland Under-21s forward Ronan Hale, while the final winning goal of the campaign came from Brighton & Hove Albion’s Luis Garcia, who rivalled Hartigan’s strike with another goal from the halfway line.
