League Football Education’s (LFE) Goal of the Month competition is back with a bang with a dozen sizzling strikes from the Academy Leagues in August.

Jack Willbye’s 45-yard thunderbolt for Ipswich deservedly saw him claim the crown last year and with over a score of submissions, we’ve whittled our shortlist down to 12 goals from next wave of talented youngsters at clubs up and down the land.

Those hoping to emulate Willbye are:

  • HENRY CAMERON, BLACKPOOL v Walsall
  • NICO COTTON, Stevenage v SOUTHEND UNITED
  • JAKE MILLER, Cheltenham Town v PLYMOUTH ARGYLE
  • FRED TRACEY, Swansea City v SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY
  • JACK FRIEND, PETERBOROUGH UTD v Southend Utd
  • BRANDON HANLAN, QPR v CHARLTON ATHLETIC
  • ADEMOLA LOOKMAN, QPR v CHARLTON ATHLETIC
  • DENNON LEWIS, WATFORD v Dagenham & Redbridge
  • HARRISON CHAPMAN, Bolton Wanderers v MIDDLESBROUGH
  • NIALL McGOLDRICK, Bolton Wanderers v Middlesbrough
  • BEN GODFREY, YORK CITY v Fleetwood Town
  • JONATHAN KAPEND, PORT VALE v Bury

LFE chief executive Alan Sykes said: “We’re pleased to bring back this competition which remains extremely popular and provides a great platform to showcase the talented young footballers that are on our programme.”
