The Slog

I have still not returned to training since my last blog.

However, I feel as if I am finally getting somewhere. This has been my first major injury and I never really appreciated the frustrations that players go through when they are out injured for a while.

I have seen players out of the game for a long time but it never struck home how it affects that person. I was originally out for two weeks and I am now entering my eleventh week!

For the last couple of weeks I have really stepped up the fitness and ‘touch wood’ I will hopefully be back in full time training by the end of next week.

The disappointment of being told I am nearly ready and then not being able to train is hard to take.

Saying that, the medical and conditioning team have been fantastic and have managed to keep up my motivation and I have really appreciated it.

Alex Wynter

Alex Wynter won Academy Player of the Year in 2009.

On a more positive note, the team are doing really well so therefore I will have to be patient in working my way towards a place on the teamsheet.

A big congratulations to Jonny Williams, who was called up to the senior Wales Team this week.

Jonny spent the week with the squad as they played at home to Switzerland before travelling to Bulgaria.

A fantastic achievement.

Until the next time…..
