In the 16!

Match day once again, and for the first time of the season I was named in the squad of 16, which was much better than not being involved at all. It was important to get a result after losing last week. Michael Conchie came in for Ash Higgins and Tom McMahon came in for Phil Appiah who was suspended after being sent off last week. A good start was vital, and it’s what we got when Conch managed to turn and shoot after a knock back from Dom to give us the lead. With about 10 minutes of the half left, the game burst to life when Nathan Fairhrust made it 2-0 via a deflected free kick. However on the stroke of half time Carlisle managed to pull one back. Just as the referee was about to blow for half time, Ray Shearwood launched a shot goal-wards and it found the back of the net via another deflection. Carlisle managed to pull one back to set up a nervy ending to the game but we managed to hold on for the three points, which is just what we needed and was a great end to the week.
