Catch Up Before the End of the Season

I haven’t written anything for a few weeks, so here I am trying to catch up by telling you as much as I can that has happened over the past few weeks!

First of all, I left you last time in the lead up to the game against Crewe in the league which finished 1-1. The lads felt that we should definitely have brought all 3 points away from the game.

Then we unfortunately lost 2-0 to Sheffield United, but in the following game we were able to pick ourselves up and bounce back well by putting in a great performance against Coventry away, finishing the game with a 4-1 win.

Away from the games, the training ground has been involved in a massive change over the past couple of months with some renovations taking place, which is all part of the new Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP). The new facilities are very good, which gives everyone around the training ground a boost when they can come in every day and be in an environment that is nice and clean etc.

Leading on from the very good performance against Coventry, we put out a strong side against Huddersfield in the last game but came out of it without a point, losing 3-0 in the end.

We now have a remainder of just two games left of the season in the league against Leeds United and Leicester City, both away fixtures which will be tough encounters. We will hope to take maximum points from those and finish off the season strongly!

I have been writing on behalf of the youth team all season, although there are quite a few second year scholars that have been involved in the under 21’s and the first team for the past few months now. This means we have put out young teams throughout and it’s certainly a positive because it allows the youngsters to show what they have got and also give them valuable experience of playing league football at under 18 level.

Not long now left now until the end of the season, so there are obviously some big decisions to be made about contracts, etc. Hopefully it’s a positive end to the season for us over the next two fixtures and I will be keeping you up to date with how the last couple of games go.

Cheers!
Charlee
