The ASE programme is designed to give Football League Apprentices the very best chance of building and maintaining a career as a professional football player.

While approximately 40% of Football League Apprentices do gain a professional playing contract upon exit from the ASE programme, 60% are required to seek out other opportunities. Through the exit and progression support programme LFE will equip Apprentices with the information and skills necessary for alternative and secondary careers.

The Progression Strategy
Progression comes to life through a yearly cycle of events and ongoing activities co-ordinated and managed by LFE. This includes delivery of tailored recruitment events, creation of bespoke Progression Programmes & Partnerships and managed recruitment services.

This enables Support Partners to fulfil moral and contractual obligations to their membership through the transitioning of elite athletes into employment, education, training or finally into similar/alternative elite sporting careers.

Please see the Progression section of the site for more information.
