The Aprentice Journey

Initial Assessment

Initial Assessment is carried out with each Apprentice on an individual basis to ascertain his academic ability before the training programme commences.

The LFE Regional Officer will deliver a presentation at this time to all new prospective Apprentices and Parents & Guardians.

Where possible, LFE Regional Officers will undertake Initial Assessment in partnership with the following individuals:

  • The Apprentices’ parents or guardians
  • The Education & Welfare Officer/Academy Manager or Youth Development Officer of the Club
  • A tutor from the designated Education Provider

The Assessment, which will include a basic skills test, will normally be carried out anytime between January and June and will enable the Apprentice to be placed on the most appropriate educational programme based upon his expected GCSE results.
